It’s that time of the year again! You’re probably doing a lot of sorting, packing, and disposing, but it is also the time of year to also reflect on what needs to be changed. This applies not only to lesson plans, but also to the classroom environment. Today’s episode will focus specifically on the classroom library and how to maximize your time now so that you’ll save time later.

This may be a shock to hear, but in my opinion the best time to set up your class library is at the end of the year. Hear me out. As you’re putting your books in boxes and taking inventory at the end of the year, why not get your students involved? Not to mention, if you organize your library the way you want it and categorize it now just imagine how much easier it will be in the fall!

How many of you are counting down the days until summer? I love having something to look forward to and celebrating the passing of time. With that being said, it is probably the hardest part of the year to maintain student engagement. That’s why this episode is about keeping students engaged in reading until the very last day of school.
