Click play below to hear two simple routines to use in the classroom:
Welcome back to another episode! I don’t know about you, but when I was in the classroom, there was never enough time in the day to get everything accomplished, whether that was teaching, planning, or grading. I never had a good work-life balance and always felt so busy!
I wish I had known today’s guest, Stephanie Palovchik. On today’s episode, we’re discussing two simple routines that every elementary teacher needs to know.
Stephanie is a productivity coach for elementary teachers, and the founder of Teaching Little Leaders. She’s also a Kindergarten teacher and the host of The Teacher Time Podcast. Stephanie helps elementary teachers get planned and prepared during the school day with simple time management strategies.
A big part of her time management strategy is her very simple task of her work day startup routine and her end of the work day routine. Establishing these two routines at the beginning and end of your day not only keeps you focused on the important tasks, but also puts you in the right mindset.
Did you know that when creating a habit, you automatically send a cue to your brain that registers for that habit? This is an amazing thing because once you establish your cue, whether that’s turning on music, or closing your door after students leave, it sets you up to be successful and productive on your tasks.
You might be thinking, I get to school right as my kids are walking in and I leave when the kids are walking out. How am I supposed to establish my beginning and end of the day routine? Simple solution! Make it part of your classroom routine and incorporate your students.
Adding more hours in the day isn’t possible, but finding ways to efficiently use your time is possible. The intention behind implementing these two simple routines in your day is to simply start and end your day on the right foot that creates a stress-free and calm working environment. As a teacher productivity coach, Stephanie details simple routines that will work for you and give you back more time!
