If you are anything like me, then you are constantly looking for ways to boost your students vocabulary and help them add descriptive words to their writing. I created these synonym and antonym posters and word charts to help you and your students do just that. The student friendly charts and posters make it easy for students to select words that will enhance their writing and build their vocabulary.

I created these synonym and antonym posters and word charts to help you and your students do just that. The student friendly charts and posters make it easy for students to select words that will enhance their writing and build their vocabulary.

Each chart/poster includes:

  • Commonly Used Word
  • Definition of Word
  • Picture Clue
  • 14 Synonyms for the Word
  • 4 Antonyms of the Word

Printing Options:

  • Half Page Version – Fits perfectly in students writing journals. Also works great to add as part of your word wall or bulletin board display. Can be printed in black and white or color.
  • Quarter Page Mini Version – This size makes the perfect reference ring (see preview for pictures). Students can keep their individual reference ring at their desk or you can have 4-5 rings available during small group writing. Students can easily look for new and exciting words during their independent writing time. Can be printed in black and white or color.
  • Thesaurus Reference Chart – You can print all 40 words on 2 pages (front and back) and give students space to add their own words to the chart. This version fits perfectly in students writing folders. Can be printed in black and white or color.
